Education: Camino Nuevo Charter Academy High School
Los Angeles, California: This new high school campus building was built on a very challenging site. The Academy's philosophy is to build small compact schools near the neighborhoods where their students reside. As a result the facility incorporates all of the features of a high school campus including classrooms, administrative offices, courtyard activity areas and parking on a 57,400 square foot lot. Special attention was given to integration of mechanical systems to maximize usable teaching area. In addition, maximizing energy savings and minimizing maintenance requirements for this privately operated school was critical
